Decision time

We all are going to have to make a tough choice. An import cartridge filter from China came across my desk last week. The filter was not to bad, and the quality was also acceptable. The average maintenance guy would never be able to tell it from an American made filter. After careful examination I did see where the technology used to produce the filter was 7-10 years old, but again would the average guy be able to tell the difference? NO.

If you purchase the filters in large quantities, the pricing is unbelievable. It does appear to me that they have somehow sidestepped a couple patents that a U.S. manufacture would have to honer.

According to a large cartridge manufacture the price of the import was about the price he paid for material.

I know times are tough but here we go again. Buy a cheep filter and save money or buy an American filter and save jobs. We all know what decision Wal-mart and others have taken but now it is your turn. I would be curious how you as consumers feel and which way you would go.
